How Sadr supports Iraq: The News Blog

December 3, 2006

Steve Gilliard, who I believe distills issues to their most basic, has written about Moqtada Al-Sadr, and how he has grown and maintained so much control of how Iraq should(?) go, if it stays as one country that is. Of which, I have serious doubts. Sadr is living the battle, and that credibility plus the support he gives the starving, unemployed, un(?)electrified Iraqis, just to help them survive, in the holocaust we have created.
The entire article is superb, but I believe that I’ve excerpted a piece that will motivate you to read the entire thing.

Sadr grew in stature not because he changed his opinion, but because he didn’t. He had been a nationalist in 2003 and is one now. And while the US was fighting the Sunni insurgency, the Mahdi Army was growing. The men in black slowly started to take over Baghdad. While the US was chasing ghosts in Fallujah and losing in Ramadi, the Madhi Army got trained and got larger.

It is a year old, and conditions are fluid, aka going down the drain, in Iraq, because of the u.s.
