The Raw Story | In blow to Lieberman, senior party official says campaign committee will back winner of Democratic party in Connecticut
Hot diggity dog. Thanks to Bluegrass Report, the DSCC “might” support the Connecticut Democratic Primary winner. I hope that “might” becomes “will” and the delay in saying it, does concern me. Clinton did the right thing coming out with in a couple hours with her support of the voters’ choice in Democratic Senate Candidate.
In a serious blow to Sen. Joseph Lieberman’s (D-CT) reelection campaign, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is likely to back the winner of the Democratic primary in Connecticut, meaning that Lieberman may be left without national allies for campaign money.
“It is likely that the DSCC will back the winner of the Democratic primary in Connecticut,” the party official told RAW STORY, requesting anonymity because of the sensitivity of the race.
Lieberman spokesman Marion Steinfels did not immediately return a call for comment. She told a reporter for the Washington Post yesterday that the senator is “totally focused on winning the Democratic primary.”
In case this is news, Firedoglake had the story, Jane just happens to be in CT to cover the primary contest, in person! And many updates since yesterday.
